Official Agent Field Guide

A CodeTeachers & Waymaker Resource

🔎 Mission 1: The "Is It Real?" Checklist

AI can generate text, images, and videos that look real but aren't. As an Ethics Detective, use this checklist whenever you see something surprising online.

Check the Hands & Text
Does the person have 6 fingers? Is the writing in the background gibberish? AI often struggles with these details.
Audit the Source
Who posted it? complete strangers or a verified news source? Use Google to see if other trusted sites are reporting the same thing.
Reverse Image Search
Take a screenshot and upload it to Google Images or TinEye. Does it appear on stock photo sites or AI art galleries?

🛡️ Mission 2: The R.A.N.A. Protocol

Before you trust or share AI content, run the RANA protocol.

R - Review

Don't just scroll. Stop and look closely. Does it make sense? Does it trigger a strong emotion (fear/anger)?

A - Audit

Fact-check it. Ask: "Where did this data come from?" If you used AI to write homework, did you check the facts?

N - Normalize

It's okay to use AI! Call it out. "I used ChatGPT to help brainstorm ideas." Be transparent.

A - Accept

Accept responsibility. If you post it, YOU own it, not the AI. Ensure it aligns with your values.

📝 Activity: Bias Hunter

AI learns from the internet, which means it can have biases. Try this experiment:

  1. Ask an image generator for a "Doctor".
  2. Ask for a "CEO".
  3. Ask for a "Teacher".

Observation: Did the AI assume a gender or race for these roles? A good detective notices these patterns and prompts specifically to include everyone.
